- Most common fault is, too big of a step. This leads to balance issues and concentration on stepping rather than accurately delivering the bowl to target.
- Don’t step across your delivery line. Your shoulder will follow and make you not square to your delivery line and target.
- Check where you are facing. I see many bowlers either not rotated enough (straight on the mat), or over rotated (facing 20 degrees or more).
- If you over-rotate, then you have to bowl across your body and there goes the accuracy.
- It only requires a few degrees to be square to your target.
- When stepping keep your body level. Avoid rising up through the step.
- As you step forward, feel your weight through your foot. Heel first, then through the arch, then onto the toes as you release and keep moving forward through another step with the other foot, continuous motion.
