Saturday May 10 brought the first BSI tournament of the year, the President’s Cup which involves teams from the executives of all the South Island clubs.

This year all 11 clubs entered and so the hosts, Victoria, entered a second team to make up the numbers.
Despite some early showers, the weather brightened up and a good time was had by all.
Victoria (team 1) won, with Burnside second, Central Saanich third and CP fourth.
The Lakehill team, consisting of Judie Currie, Deryk Barker and Marnie Dangerfield upheld our reputation as the friendliest and most generous club in town by losing both their games and – once again – coming in in last place.

However, our cheerleading section (Margot Gillard, Linda Simpson and Anita Wah) was unmatched by any other club and helped lift the spirits even as we were being beaten.

Next year!
Deryk
