On Sunday, September 14, 2025, our last outdoor club tournament of the season started with a drizzly morning but it did not stop 48 enthusiastic Lake Hill lawn bowlers from competing. As the games progressed so came the beautiful weather, the laughter (unless you were playing on the same rink multiple times) and the competitiveness. Each team jockeying for position in the standings.

In the end the top 4 teams were:
1st. Randy Small, Alice Schellenberg, and Sue Ennis.
2nd. Larry Mahoney, Wilnae Murphy and Jennifer Gunn.
3rd. Judy Currie, Betty Storey, and Moira Lowdon.
4th. Gina Jarvis/Bill Karlenzig, Bev Scheurle and Suzanne Hiltz.

The team that won the random draw prize (each receiving fresh locally picked corn on the cob and a hand towel for clean up) were: Anita Wah, Jim Turner and Kay Alexander/Gill Lightbody.
This tournament could not have continued as scheduled without our spares and shares players. Shona D., Gina J. and Bill K. were very late additions to the roster list.
I want to acknowledge a huge “THANK YOU” to three outstanding volunteers while I was emailing from Nanaimo for the BC 55+ Senior Games, and during the Tournament:
· Shona Dallison for adjusting her schedule in managing and setting up
the club house, kitchen help, and playing as a substitute.
· Pat Montgomery for coordinating the random draw, score cards, scorekeeping, scheduling, and the computer.
· Laima van Turnhout for assisting Pat Montgomery, as well as finances, registration, and the random draw prizes.
Our tournaments and club events could not be successful without our amazing volunteers. I thoroughly appreciate the help I received from all the kitchen (Shona D/Gina J/Sharron M), club house setup (Shona D/Joe F/Sirish P/Mark P), clean-up (everyone), greens (Shaen M), rink setup – lines (Chris D/Joe F), mats, jacks and rakes (Steve M/Sue E), photos (Alana P) and tournament mentors (Ann M/Wilnae M).

Congratulations to the Linda McClung 2-Bowls 6-Pack winners and participants.
